As harpist to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales,
Jemima
Phillips is one of the leading young harpists of her generation. The
only musician invited to perform at the wedding reception of Prince
Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall, she has an impressive list of
qualifications. By the young age of nineteen she had gained
Fellowships of Trinity College London and the Royal Schools of Music
to add to her LRSM and ARCM diplomas. At seventeen, she won a
Foundation Scholarship to the Royal College of Music, where she was
awarded a BMus(Hons) and an MMus(RCM) with the distinction of
being the first harp student at the RCM to achieve an intensive
Masters Degree.
Winner of numerous awards and accolades Jemima has appeared
extensively throughout the UK and further afield in Japan, Russia,
France, America, Switzerland and Spain. An exciting, versatile and
innovative performer, she is very committed to bringing the
instrument into the 21st century and loves playing experimental
music on an electro-acoustic concert harp, oftencombining forces
with a DJ. With television appearances on BBC, GMTV and HTV,
Jemima enjoys immense popularity with her audiences, so the
pieces she has chosen for her debut album are those that have
become firm favourites with many of her fans.
The harp Jemima plays on is a Salvi Appollo, courtesy of the Victor
Salvi Foundation.
